Agent memory lets agents remember what you tell them and learn from your conversations. Personal memory belongs to you. Shared memory belongs to an agent and is available to people who use that agent. Use your privacy settings to stop memory use in your conversations or remove what agents remember about you personally in your current workspace.

How to see and control what Athena remembers about you

  1. Open the Memory tab
  2. Show only your memories
  3. Check where one came from
  4. Forget one memory
  5. Confirm
  6. Open your privacy settings
  7. Stop agents remembering you
  8. Delete all your memories

Understand personal and shared memory

Your personal memories are visible only to you. An agent recalls your personal memory during your runs, alongside its shared memory. Another person’s run does not receive your personal memory. Shared memory holds information for the agent’s users. Writing shared memory requires permission to edit the agent. Your personal deletion control leaves that shared memory in place.

Stop agents remembering you

  1. Open User Settings, then Privacy.
  2. Find Agent memory.
  3. Turn off Let agents remember me.
While this setting is off, agents neither recall nor save memory in your conversations. Your sessions are also excluded from the processing that builds memory from past conversations. Memories already saved remain stored until you delete them. To allow memory again, return to Privacy and turn on Let agents remember me. Turning it back on does not restore memories you permanently delete.

Forget one memory

Each memory on an agent’s Memory tab carries a tag: Yours for a personal memory, or Shared for the agent’s shared memory. Use the Mine filter to show only your own.
  1. Open the agent and select the Memory tab.
  2. Select Mine to show only your personal memories.
  3. Select Details on a card to see where the memory came from.
  4. Select the bin icon on the card.
  5. Read Forget this memory? and select Forget.
The agent stops recalling that memory. A later dream, the agent’s background review of past conversations, can learn it again from the same conversation. Forgetting a shared memory, or clearing all memories, needs permission to edit the agent.

Delete your personal memories

  1. Switch to the workspace whose personal memories you want to remove.
  2. Open User Settings, then Privacy.
  3. Select Delete my memories.
  4. Read Delete your memories in this workspace? and select Delete permanently.
  5. Check for the confirmation that deletion has started. Removal takes a few minutes.
If you also want to stop future learning, turn off Let agents remember me separately. Deleting memories and opting out are separate actions.

Good to know

Deletion removes your personal memories with every agent in the current workspace. It is permanent and leaves agents’ shared memory untouched. These controls act on your signed-in account. You cannot use them to delete another person’s memories. Memory availability depends on your deployment. If Privacy is absent, your deployment may not yet support these controls.
