Your on-demand workspace uses a shared prepaid balance to pay for usage. You add funds before you use them, and usage reduces the balance automatically. Use the billing page to fund the workspace or check the balance when new runs cannot start. Prepaid billing is available for on-demand workspaces in Athena-managed cloud deployments.

How to add credits and turn on automatic recharge

  1. Open Workspace Settings
  2. Open Billing
  3. Choose an amount
  4. Confirm the top-up
  5. Turn on Auto-recharge
  6. Set trigger and target
  7. Save auto-recharge

Add funds

You must be a workspace owner to add funds.
  1. Open Workspace Settings, then Billing.
  2. Review Balance. All members of your workspace use this balance.
  3. Choose one of the preset amounts, such as Add 25.00∗∗,∗∗Add25.00**, **Add 100.00 or Add 500.00∗∗.Apresetopens∗∗Confirmtop−up∗∗straightaway.Toenteryourownamount,typeitin∗∗Custom(500.00**. A preset opens **Confirm top-up** straight away. To enter your own amount, type it in **Custom () and select Add funds.
  4. Review Confirm top-up, including Current balance and Balance after top-up. Sales tax, where applicable, is added to the payment and does not become credit.
  5. If you have no saved card, select Continue to checkout and complete the payment in Stripe. If you have a saved card, check its brand and last four digits, then select Charge with the displayed amount.
  6. Return to Billing and check Balance and Top-up history. After checkout, your balance may take a moment to update.

When your balance runs out

At zero or a negative balance, you cannot start new chat runs or Agent Operating Procedure (AOP) executions. You may see Prepaid balance exhausted. If you are the workspace owner, select Add funds. If you are a member or manager, ask your workspace owner to replenish the balance. A red banner reads “You’re out of prepaid balance. Add funds to resume runs.” When the balance is under $5 and automatic recharge is off, an amber banner warns that your prepaid balance is low. If the balance is negative, the billing page shows the amount in parentheses. Your next top-up covers what you already owe before it adds usable credit. Review the resulting balance before confirming a payment.

Limits

The billing form accepts between 10and10 and 10,000 per manual top-up. Billing must finish setup before you can add funds. Only owners manage billing; members and managers share the balance but cannot add funds or manage cards. You do not manage a prepaid balance here if your workspace uses an enterprise agreement. A payment-related spending pause is a separate condition: adding funds does not remove that pause.
