Overview
Creating Visualizations
Athena Visualizations enable you to create interactive charts, graphs, and dashboards that bring your data to life. Transform raw data from spreadsheets, databases, and other sources into compelling visual stories that drive data-driven decision making across your organization.Using the Visualizations toolkit, you can generate professional-grade charts using Plotly, create custom dashboards with multiple visualizations, and embed interactive figures directly into documents, presentations, and user interfaces.Key Features
Every visualization you create is saved as a figure asset that can be reused across your workspace. Figure assets maintain their interactivity and can be embedded in documents, presentations, dashboards, or shared as standalone visualizations.Dashboard Builder
Combine multiple visualizations into comprehensive dashboards with customizable layouts. Arrange charts in grid-based layouts, configure themes, and create executive dashboards that provide at-a-glance insights into your business metrics.Data Source Integration
Connect visualizations directly to Athena Sheets, databases, or query results. Visualizations can automatically update when underlying data changes, ensuring your charts always reflect the latest information.Embedding and Sharing
Embed visualizations in Athena Docs, presentations, and user interfaces. Share figure assets with team members, export charts as images, or display them in custom dashboards for organization-wide visibility. Step-by-Step Guide
Prepare Your Data
Ensure your data is organized in Athena Sheets, a database, or query results. Data should be structured with clear column headers and consistent data types.
Select Athena Assist with Visualization Toolkit
In the chat UI, select Athena Assist and ensure the Visualization Toolkit is enabled from the available tools.
Describe Your Visualization
Describe the chart you want to create in natural language. For example: “Create a line chart showing monthly revenue trends from the sales data in Q4-Sales sheet.”
Review and Refine
Athena generates your visualization. Review the chart and provide additional instructions to adjust colors, labels, chart type, or layout as needed.
Save as Figure Asset
Your visualization is automatically saved as a figure asset that can be referenced, embedded, or shared across your workspace.
Create Dashboards (Optional)
Combine multiple figure assets into a dashboard by describing your desired layout. For example: “Create a dashboard with the revenue chart on top and the regional breakdown below.”
