Step-by-step Instructions

Authorization

You must be an admin of the Slack workspace to set up the Slack integration.

Sign in

Navigate to Slack and sign in.

Create a new Slack app

  • Click the Create New App button in the top right.
  • Select From an app manifest option.
  • Select the relevant workspace from the dropdown and click Next.

Add manifest

Contact us at team@athenaintel.com to get the manifest for your app.
  • Click the Create button.

Save the token

  • In the app page, navigate to the OAuth & Permissions tab under the Features header.
  • Copy the Bot User OAuth Token, this will be used to access Slack inside Athena.

Indexing

Connect Slack

Navigate to Integrations and click on Slack.

Authorize

Place the Bot User OAuth Token when prompted.

Select workspaces

Select the workspaces you want to make searchable and click Connect.
