# Approvals for a session

> Approve eligible tool calls and subagent dispatches for the rest of your session

Session approvals let you approve eligible actions once so Athena can repeat them in the same session without asking again. Use them when you review a proposed action and want that tool, or subagent dispatch, to continue without repeated approval prompts. The allowance belongs to this session and covers the eligible tools shown in the approval request.

## Approve eligible actions

1. When Athena pauses for approval, read every proposed action in the request. Check its arguments, such as recipients or the work it performs.
2. Look for **Approve all for this session** beside the approve button, such as **Approve & send** for email or **Approve event** for calendar. The button appears only when your workspace allows approval overrides for that tool, and only when every action in the request qualifies.
3. Select **Approve all for this session** to approve the displayed actions and allow later eligible calls to the covered tools in this session.
4. Review any later approval request that still appears. A tool your workspace always checks never shows **Approve all for this session**, and it keeps asking even after you approve other tools for the session.

If you edit an email or calendar proposal, **Approve all for this session** is disabled and a hint tells you to send or reset your edits first, because a session-wide approval sends the original. Send your edited proposal with **Approve & send** or **Approve event**, or select **Reset** before approving for the session.

## Approve subagent dispatches

A subagent is an agent Athena assigns part of your work to.

1. Read the proposed work in each waiting subagent card.
2. Select **Approve all for this session** on an eligible card.
3. Athena approves the other eligible waiting dispatches that have no decision yet. Later eligible dispatches in the same session proceed without another prompt.

Dispatches that require individual approval remain waiting. If you edit a dispatch's brief, model, or tools, use its individual approval controls instead.

## Approve browser profile use

1. Review the browser profiles listed in a profile approval request.
2. Select **Approve all for this session** if it is offered.

This allowance covers those profiles in this session. It does not approve other profiles. A profile owner changing its approval configuration can cause another prompt.

## Good to know

Workspace tool rules determine eligibility. Rules that prohibit approval overrides continue to ask. A prompt caused only by a blocked outbound destination is not eligible for this allowance. Session approval covers the tools in the request, rather than every tool Athena can use or every future session.
