# Image Generation

> Generate images from text prompts with Athena, save and share them as Olympus assets, and crop images for documents or presentations.

Athena's image generation capability allows you to create custom images using natural language descriptions. Powered by advanced AI models, you can generate professional-quality images for presentations, reports, and creative projects.

## Key Features

### Image Creation

Generate images directly through natural language prompts in Chat. Athena uses the image provider selected for the generation tool to create high-quality images based on your descriptions.

### Use generated images

Generated images are automatically saved as Athena assets, making them easy to reference, share, and incorporate into other applications like Docs, Sheets, and Canvas.

## Crop an image asset

1. Open an image in Spaces and drag over the region you want to keep.
2. Open **Crop** in the selection menu.
3. Select **As New Asset** to save a cropped image linked to the original.
4. To replace the original instead, select **This Asset**, read the confirmation, and select **Replace image**.

Replacing an image requires permission to modify it. It permanently overwrites the original image and cannot be undone. Creating a new cropped asset preserves the original.
