# Find assets by creator and browse your files

> Filter assets by creator and browse accessible files across workspace and connected sources

You can find an asset by its creator or browse files by where they live. Use the **Created By** search filter when you remember who made an asset. Use **All sources** when you want to explore workspace folders, Drives, connected file sources, or computer files through the shared file browser.

## Find assets by creator

1. Open the pane menu in Spaces and select **Search Assets**. It opens a dialog.
2. Enter your search text. Use **Created By** to choose the workspace members whose assets you want to find. The dropdown and the selected chips show email addresses. You can select more than one person.
3. Review **Created By** in the results table. It shows the creator's name, or their email when no name is available.
4. Combine the creator selection with your other search filters as needed. Remove a selected creator to widen the results again.
5. Open the asset you want from the results.

The creator column identifies who created an asset. It is not a list of everyone who has edited or can access it. You cannot sort the search table by this column.

## Browse and switch sources

1. Open the pane menu and select **All sources**.
2. Choose a card under **Files and Drives**, **Connected**, or **Computers**. **Files** opens the workspace file browser in the same tab. Connected cards open the source's browser in a new Spaces tab.
3. Open folders and use the path at the top to return to an earlier folder. Use **Filter this folder** to narrow the displayed names.
4. Where the browser offers a wider search, use the displayed **Search all of** action or press Enter in the filter. The action names the source it searches.
5. To switch sources from **Files**, select **All sources**. Only **Files** has this button and row checkboxes; select files there to see how many are selected and use **Open in Spaces**. From another source, reopen **All sources** through the pane menu and choose a different card.

## Good to know

You only browse sources and files your access allows. Connecting a source and opening a file remain subject to that source's permissions. A missing creator value appears blank in the search table.

The browser shares its folder layout across sources, but available actions depend on the source. Do not assume that an upload, rename, or sharing action available in workspace files is also available for every connected file. Use **Refresh** when you want the browser to request the latest listing.
