# Design System assets

> Edit brand guidelines and import or export a Design System

A Design System asset holds brand tokens, typography, components, and guidelines. Its sections can be edited collaboratively. Design Systems are Beta and must be available in your deployment; changes require edit access to the asset.

## Edit a Design System

1. Open the Design System asset in Spaces.
2. Choose **Overview**, **Tokens**, **Typography**, **Components**, **Data Viz**, **Brand**, or **Guidelines**.
3. Edit the section you need. Wait for the collaborative connection before making changes.

## Import or export

1. Select **Export** to download the current configuration as JSON.
2. To load a saved configuration, select **Import** and choose its JSON file.
3. If the asset already contains content, read the replacement confirmation before selecting **Replace**. JSON import replaces every configuration section, including guidelines.
4. To attach a component library instead, select **Import** and choose a component-kit ZIP. Confirm with **Attach**, or **Replace** if a library is already attached.
5. Open **Components** to review the attached library.

A ZIP import attaches the library without replacing the other sections. Import requires edit access and a live collaborative connection.
