# Pick the right trigger

> Choose when your AOP starts with schedules, email, meetings, and video sessions

Choose what starts your Monday assistant. An Agent Operating Procedure (AOP) holds your task instructions. A trigger starts a run at a set time or after an event. You will compare schedules, email, meetings, and video sessions so your assistant starts when the work is ready.

**Before you start:** Watch Athena 101's [Make it run every week](../../athena-101/13-weekly-aop.mdx), then open the AOP you want to configure.

## Choose a trigger

1. Open **Triggers**. Click **Create** to see the available trigger types. Start with the moment your work should begin.
2. For a weekly briefing, choose **Schedule**, then **Recurring**. In **Configure Recurring Schedule**, set **Frequency** to **Specific Days of Week**. Select **Mon** and set **Time**. Check **Schedule:** and **Timezone:** before clicking **Create**.
3. For a single extra run, choose **One-Time Run**. Use **Quick Schedule**, such as **Next Monday at 9 AM**, or choose the date and time under **Run at**. Check the timezone, then click **Create**.
4. To give the AOP an email address, choose **Email**, then **Dedicated Address**. Enter **Email Address** and check **Full address:**. Review **Make this trigger available to entire workspace**, **Send confirmation email when triggered**, and **Send result email when triggered**. Click **Create**.
5. To start from your own mail, choose **Connected Inbox**. If you see **Connect Your Email**, use **Connect Email in Settings** to connect your account first.
6. To start after a meeting, choose **Meeting**. Read **Create Meeting Trigger**, then click **Create**. Look for **Meeting Trigger** in the trigger list.
7. To start after an Athena video session, choose **Video Session**. In **Create Video Session Trigger**, click **Create**. Look for **Video Session Trigger** in the list.

## Good to know

* **Recurring** repeats. **One-Time Run** runs once at the date and time you choose. Read the schedule preview and timezone before creating either.
* Any email sent to a **Dedicated Address** starts a run. Review its workspace availability option before making it available to others.
* **Connected Inbox** needs your email account connected in Settings. It can start from mail you receive or send.
* **Meeting** waits until the meeting ends and a transcript is available.
* **Video Session** waits until the session ends and its recording has been transcribed. The transcript is usually ready a minute or two later.
