# AOPs in depth

> Build an assistant that runs your Monday with triggers, run forms, notifications, and chained AOPs

Build an assistant that runs your Monday. An Agent Operating Procedure (AOP) holds the instructions for a repeatable task. In these five videos, you choose what starts it, collect the inputs it needs, shape its reply, and follow its runs. You finish by connecting AOPs so one completed task starts the next.

## What you will build

You work with a sample AOP named Monday assistant. Start with a recurring schedule for your briefing. Then learn how email, meetings, files, database inserts, and web page changes can start work when you need it.

Add a run form with a required focus area, a priority dropdown, and a file picker. Use a JSON schema to define the reply's structure. Set notifications so you hear when a triggered run succeeds or fails. Finally, connect a follow-up AOP and use the run list to filter, stop, export, and review work.

Choose the triggers that fit your own task. You do not need every trigger in the course to build your Monday assistant.

## Who this course is for

This course is for you if you already use AOPs and want more control over when they start and what happens afterward. Follow it when you need repeatable work to begin from an event, ask for consistent inputs, or hand results to another AOP.

## Before you start

Watch these Athena 101 lessons first:

* [Make it run every week](../../athena-101/13-weekly-aop.mdx)
* [Run an exceptions AOP](../../athena-101/15-exceptions-aop.mdx)
* [Handle approvals and failures](../../athena-101/16-approvals-failures.mdx)

Have an AOP ready to edit. To follow the connected-inbox example, connect your email first. For the SharePoint example, you need a connected site. For the database example, have an Athena database and a table to select. You also need another AOP to follow the chaining example.

## Episodes

| Episode | Length | What you learn |
| - | - | - |
| [1. Pick the right trigger](01-pick-the-right-trigger.mdx) | 3:06 | Choose a schedule, an email trigger, or a trigger that waits for a meeting or video session transcript. |
| [2. Files and data](02-files-and-data.mdx) | 2:50 | Start on a new SharePoint file, an inserted database row, or a meaningful web page change. |
| [3. Smarter run forms](03-smarter-run-forms.mdx) | 3:46 | Add text, dropdown, and file inputs. Define structured output with a JSON schema. |
| [4. Know when it finishes](04-know-when-it-finishes.mdx) | 3:23 | Set email and webhook notifications. Read statuses, retry failures, and analyze a run. |
| [5. Chain AOPs and monitor them](05-chain-aops-and-monitor-them.mdx) | 3:41 | Map inputs for a follow-up AOP. Filter, stop, export, and analyze runs. |
